Keith earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations and Political Science at Concordia College, Moorhead, Minnesota and graduated with his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of North Dakota School of Law. He began his practice of law in Moorhead, Minnesota in 1976.is  His primary focus of law has been in plaintiffs’ medical malpractice, wrongful death, personal injury and products liability. He has been primary counsel in over 50 civil jury trials.

Claims handled have involved motor vehicle collisions, a helicopter crash. 42 USC 1983 Civil Rights actions, defective firearms, bicycles, agricultural machinery, commercial kitchen equipment, medical devices, invasion of privacy and sexual abuse.
